on keeping a medialog
i have only started logging things i watch around mid 2025.
the word 'performatic' wasn't even in my vocabulary, but that's kinda how it felt to try and log my movies on letterboxd before. if others are seeing it, then how truthful can my opinions really be? if no one is seeing it, is there really a point?
things changed a lot once i started journaling, and i realized there is a lot of personal value into keeping track of stuff you've interacted with. so many series and movies got lost to time simply because i've forgot about them, never to be revisited, never to be talked about.
to keep track, for me, is to always have a reminder that everything has value, that everything can be learned from, and that everything is an opportunity to know yourself a little bit more.
glossary
my rating system doesn't use numbers! instead, i just made it reflect how much i enjoyed the movie :]
so now no one can crucify me for giving the same rating to Cowboys & Aliens (2011) and Shutter Island (2010)
i'm still figuring out how to display review and notes, be patient with me!!
